What are your hours of operation?Monday - Friday, 9AM - 5PM Weekend Private Walks by Appointment
-
What areas do you service?Victoria: We currently service most of Victoria and Langford. Some neighbourhoods we service are Saanich, View Royal, Colwood, Victoria (north of Johnson Street), Hillside, Gordon Head, and Esquimalt (along Craigflower road). Please click here to see our service map. Edmonton: We service Southwest Edmonton, including Riverbend, Terwillegar, Windermere, Ambleside, Ramsay Heights, Hodgson, Chapelle, and Laurier Heights. Please click here to see our service map.
-
Are you open on Statutory Holidays?Currently, our scheduled services are not operational on Canadian statutory holidays.
-
Does my dog need to be registered?Simply, yes. We require all dogs over the age of four months to be registered with the city. We do require up to date registrations and vaccinations to be able to have your pup in our pack. Please make sure that your dog has physical tags to ensure transparency.
-
Are your insured? What does that mean?Absolutely. We work with highly regarded insurance companies within Canada. Every person on our staff is fully insured and bonded through PROfur, specialty insurance policy for pet care professionals. Please visit the site for more information on what our policy provides.
-
Where will you be walking my dog?We rotate between designated pet-friendly areas for variety. We love to walk, snow or shine. Most days, you can find us on neighbourhood trails or regional parks! We are always on the lookout for new and exciting places to take your pup, while minimizing the time they spend in the car.
-
What time will my dog be walked? We use a one-hour pick-up window. This window helps us manage varying schedules due to the complexity of maneuvering through Edmonton’s climate. This window allows us to account for bad weather, toweling dogs off after rainy or snowy days, varying travel time between clients, and of course the affection we give each pup throughout the trip. Please see our Edmontonian Winter Special for our cold weather conditions on our Services page.
-
Can you feed my dog?We would be happy to! We look forward to providing any care your dog needs. We would be happy to provide food or water at the end of designated walks as long as portions are provided in an easy location and amounts are listed within your pet profile. If medication is required, we can administer at your discretion.
-
How do I pay?We accept all major credit cards with payments fully automated through your client portal. Payments are billed bi-weekly with reminder emails. If you prefer e-transfer or cash we receive those too! We are proactive through our client portal to keep track of every payment.
-
What is your cancellation policy?24 hours If you need to cancel a walk or hike, please let us know 24 hours before the scheduled service. This gives us time to reallocate the time to a different pet pal. If you have to make a last-minute cancellation, please do so by no later than 8am on the day of the scheduled visit. Cancellations received after this time will be charged the full price of the visit. We allow a one-time forgiveness since we are becoming busy bees!
-
Will I work with the same walker? We have a small team of 2-3 dedicated walkers, each of whom will build trust and a loving relationship with your dog so they are comfortable with all of us, and have you covered in case one of the walkers is sick or away.
-
What if my dog walker gets sick or goes on holiday? These things happen, and we will ALWAYS have you covered, whether another walker takes over, or we make flexible and timely arrangements to suit your needs.
-
Do you have a Hot & Cold Weather Policy? We certainly want to make sure the pups are comfortable in both summer and winter weather. -25°C or below: Walks may be cancelled. +25°C or above: Walks will be cancelled at the Operation Manager's discretion. Walks may be cancelled if road and walking conditions are unsafe. Wind chill may be a factor based on Pawsentials' discretion. We ensure dogs are safe and comfortable; if weather becomes unbearable we may provide check-in services for pups scheduled.
-
What's the best way to get in touch? We want to be proactive and provide assurance during busy times. Riley is the best point of contact through our Contact page or by email at riley@pawsentials.ca. We love keeping you updated via the client portal or social media. If you need immediate contact with your dog walker, please refer to your online portal for their personal phone number. Email updates may be provided as we continue to grow.
